About BAKERY by frothy monkey

We are a full-service wholesale BAKERY in Nashville owned by Frothy Monkey. Everything we bake is from scratch. Our team of pastry bakers produce a wide assortment of baked goods including muffins and cookies, laminated doughs, and scones. 

The Pastry Chef is a full-time position that will require day and weekend availability. The Pastry Chef will report directly to the Bakery Production Manager and is responsible for the management and production of our Pastry Department. You MUST be available to work weekends and some holidays to qualify.

Goals:

• Work alongside the Bakery Production Manager to plan and execute existing Pastry Menu
• Improve accountability amongst team members
• Increase Customer Satisfaction by ensuring product quality and order accuracy
• Increase Productivity and Efficiency of Pastry Teams
• Implement and monitor SOPs for all Pastry Teams
• Emphasize Employee Safety and Proper Food Safety & Handling

Daily Job Responsibilities for the Pastry Chef:

• Create, develop and execute Pastry Menu for wholesale operations
• Plan and execute the management of all pastry staff for a 7-day operation
• Hire and manage all team members
• Oversee production reports and ensure accurate counts of product for customer orders
• Maintain the company expectations for customer satisfaction
• Maintain proper inventory of equipment and supplies required for pastry
• Maintain and execute Department SOPs
• Maintain a clean and orderly workspace and ensure all production support staff assist in maintaining building cleanliness
• Demonstrate the highest level of integrity and ethics in all decision-making
• Uphold all company policies and procedures
• Represent company with professional appearance and demeanor
• Communicate effectively with employees, customers, vendors, and agencies
• Demonstrate dependability, reliability, punctuality
• Assist in maintaining proper chain of command for employees and their respective managers
• Provide support to the Bakery Director and Bakery Production Manager in maintaining operations
• Attend bi-weekly Bakery Team meetings

Required Skills:

• Scaling ingredients according to BAKERY Pastry Formulas
• Mixing Ingredients to proper incorporation and development, using Planetary Mixer, or manual (by hand) technique, depending on Formula and product requirements
• Following BAKERY by Frothy Monkey formulas and recipes to properly mix, portion, shape, and bake a wide array of Artisanal baked goods and desserts
• Follow direction and receive feedback from Bakery Production Manager
• Be an optimistic, warm individual who works well independently as well as in teams.  Willing to smile often and abundantly, and take pleasure in making others happy.
• Possess strong leadership skills. Able to train, manage, and develop staff effectively
• Have strong organization skills and the ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment
• Able to work early mornings, holidays and weekends as needed to manage team members
• Possess knowledge of food & safety regulations, and able to coach team members to practice proper procedures
• Have the desire to grow, learn, and use creativity in problem-solving
